How to fix the Bluetooth issue in macos Catalina.

To fix bluetooth issue in catalina follow below steps

  1. Firstly opening up Finder and then click on ‘Go’ in the top menu, t
  2. Then ‘Go to Folder…’.
  3. And type in ‘/Library/Preferences’.
  4. Once you go inside the folder you will see a file called ‘com.apple.Bluetooth.plist’ Just delete this file of you can take the backup of this file before deleting it.
  5. Once it is deleted you have you restart your Mac running Catalina os.

After restarting try connecting your Bluetooth device again. If still, it doesn’t works then try to clear PRAM/NVRAM on Catalina

This first step to do is resect PRAM/NVRAM after updating to Catalina so that any old data should be removed from the cache.

  • Shut down your Mac.
  • Turn it on and immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, and R.
  • You can release the keys after about 20 seconds, during which your Mac might appear to restart.
  • You will need a wired keyboard to perform this reset, and the keyboard must be an Apple keyboard.

Post-install

Generate your own SMBIOS

For setting up the SMBIOS info, use GenSMBIOS

  • Run GenSMBIOS, pick option 1 for downloading MacSerial and Option 3 for selecting out SMBIOS

  • Open Config.plist, find PlatformInfo >> Generic

Reminder that you want either an invalid serial or valid serial numbers but those not in use, you want to get a message back like: 'Invalid Serial' or 'Purchase Date not Validated'Apple Check Coverage

CPU power management

Recommended additional steps to improve battery life with optimized CPU power management:

  • Open Terminal, copy and paste the following command:

  • A customized SSDT.aml for your specific machine will now be in the directory /Users/yourusername/Library/ssdtPRGen

  • Rename to SSDT-PM.aml , and copy to EFI/OC/ACPI/

  • Open Config.plist, enable ACPI>>Add>>SSDT-PM.aml

  • Reboot

If you are using different model and alternative kext from Other folder does not work for you. Try:

Fully functioning multimedia Fn keys
  • Download and install ThinkpadAssistant
  • Open the app and check the launch on login option
Use PrtSc key as Screenshot shortcut
  • Go under SystemPreferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Screenshots
  • Click on Screenshot and recording options key map
  • Press PrtSc on your keyboard (it should came out as F13)
Mac bootloader GUI
  • Download Binary Resources and OpenCanopy.efi
  • Copy the Resources folder to EFI/OC
  • Add OpenCanopy.efi to EFI/OC/Drivers
  • Make these changes inside config.plist:
    • Misc >> Boot >> PickerMode: External
    • Misc >> Boot >> PickerAttributes:1
    • UEFI >> Drivers and add OpenCanopy.efi
