About DXO Optics Pro 9
DxO make the standard camera sensor testing software, meaning they're a pretty good authority when it comes to photo software. So it's no surprise DxO Optics Pro ($99 direct) is indeed one of the most impressive pieces of photo software out there, and, since my last review of the software, it's made large leaps forward, particularly in improved organization features and program stability. It tops these off with unmatched image processing: DxO claims the new, unique Prime feature gives you a full extra stop of exposure with no increase in noise level. Even without that, Optics Pro can do wonders for your digital photos—particularly if you shoot in camera raw mode.

If you're working as a photograph, you probably agree that sometimes, skill and high-end equipment just aren't enough for a photo shooting session to be a hundred percent successful.
However, nowadays there is an extensive palette of software solutions that can help you tweak your photographs in many different ways. One of them is DxO PhotoLab, formerly known as DxO Optics Pro.
Enhanced RAW photo processing tool
DxO PhotoLab supersedes DxO Optics Pro, bringing to the table new technologies for optical corrections (U Point) an improved toolbox for processing RAW photos, including mask retouching for more accurate and faster selections, better filtering options and additional graphic effects. The lens sharpness correction tool has also been improved, which provides advanced control over the noise level. Moreover, the rebuilt repair tool now relies on a faster algorithm to remove unwanted elements in a photo.
Manage your photos efficiently
Reaching and loading your projects within the app can be a piece of cake, even for novices, since you're provided with a tree-view (much like Windows Explorer) and a reel where you can see the current folder's contents.
You can also perform a search, manage projects, compare before and after states of the same photograph, change the zoom levels or the preview mode as well as reset everything.
Heavy customization
After you've decided which picture to use in your project, you can choose from a broad range of tools to enhance its qualities, ranging from presets to basic photo adjustments such as contrast, brightness and saturation.
The 'Customize' button lets you view the file's EXIF data and access advanced customization features. You can set the RGB white balance, enable exposure compensation, crop the photo, activate the DxO Smart Lighting and ClearView modules, as well as change parameters regarding light, color, detail and geometry.
Handy context menu
If you're not quite the tinkerer, you can quickly summon a menu that packs an outstanding amount of functions by simply right-clicking the image you loaded.
This context menu lets you quickly export your file either locally or to a bunch of websites, apply a preset, create a preset using the current settings, create a project, rename the file, rotate the image, create a virtual copy or set a tag. Of course, there are more settings in the menu, but we'll let you discover them on your own.
Powerful image editing tool
Dxo Photolab Review
All in all, if you're looking for a way to enhance your photo projects, you might consider giving DxO PhotoLab a try, as it provides you with all the necessary tools, and then some.
